Major requirements for new license: legal residency in the US, have no penal record, have no outstanding child support debt, have membership in the Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico Association CIAPR (COLEGIO), Two (2) years of documented experience or one and a half (1 1/2) if you possess a master’s degree in engineering or land surveying or one (1) if you possess a doctorate from a University recognized by the Board, professional refrences by 3 engineers or surveyors, payment of $150, have taken the required continuing education courses that corresponds to the years elapsed since your Engineer or Surveyor's certificate were issued, and a certification from the Department of Continuing Education and Professional Development from the College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico
